CHRISTOPHER MERZ and SHORTER STORIES
During the week of the late great Wayne Shorter's 90th birthday, Chris Merz and his band of some of Iowa's best jazz musicians celebrate the life and music of one of the most acclaimed saxophonist/composers with their new recording project, NEW JUJU.
During an extended interview, we discuss with Chris: his creative interpretations of nine of Wayne Shorter's compositions, the attributes of his band mates, and his perpetual attraction to Shorter's music and improvisations.
